My passion for drawing was born when I was just a little girl, watching my grandfather create his graphite portraits. A love for handcraft runs in my family on both my mother’s and my father’s side. My mother’s mom used to knit the most beautiful sweaters and scarves and passed down her knowledge to my mother, who transformed her craft into embroidery. My father is a master in woodworking and his skilled hands sculpt shapes by following the natural lines of the material. Through beautiful and delicious pastry is how my sister expresses her creative side and I like to drift off into the world of imagination through my illustrations. I later mastered my creative endeavours at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, where I studied Industrial Design. After four years, I decided to continue my path as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. Moving from Ljubljana to Italy, I displayed my work in several group and solo exhibitions, as well as collaborated with various authors. I strive to embrace the changes that time brings into my life and never stop learning. That is why I recently embarked on another academic journey and enrolled in Psychology at the University of Trieste. This choice is also reflected in my work, which I now find more compassionate and empathetic. I look forward to the challenges the future holds and will never stop exploring and trying new creative impulses, whenever and however they present themselves to me. I try to put lots of love and light into my work, and I hope I've managed to pass some of it on to you. Thank you for taking the time to stop by, read my story, and enjoy my work. Wishing you all the best ♥ Darka White
